Chelsea, New York City – The ULTIMATE New York City Nightlife Scene

New York City nightlife is booming as club openings and parties in clubs that are already a New York legend are getting bigger.  For native New Yorker, the ultimate New York City nightlife party is EVERY Saturday night at The Roxy, a New York landmark since the 1920’s.  Moving with every fad and trend, The Roxy has always been to “place to be” during the 70’s and 80’s, continuing a retro tradition with roller-skating every Thursday night, and Fridays kick off every weekend on the highest note.  However, on Saturdays, the TRENDIEST of any club in New York City shines brighter like no other as Roxy Saturdays, hosted by the biggest nightclub promoter, John Blair, brings the gay New York scene to its highest peak.           

With the world-renowned Peter Rauhofer at the turntables spinning songs that will eventually become the main-stream fads on the radio a few years from now, bringing his live sets to your CD player with Live at The Roxy – Volumes One and Two, the 80’s all-night music party in the VIP room, and the fabulous promotions of John Blair Productions, The Roxy has been the New York home-stop for the Red, White, Blue, and Black parties, also known as the infamous Circuit parties.  The Roxy stage has been a phenomenal showcase to Cher, Madonna, Sandra Bernhard, Bette Midler, and many other gay music divas.  As for me, a dream of dreams for me was ringing in my thirtieth birthday with Cher performing her hit single at The Roxy, “Song for the lonely.” 

New Year’s Eve rocks at The Roxy!  You can find many stocking-stuffers during the holiday season at The Roxy, beginning from Halloween to the New Year!  Ringing in my birthday has become an annual tradition.  My 32^nd birthday will be spent at The Roxy, with open bar from 11 PM to Midnight.  With a John Blair membership card, you could get in for $15.00 until 1:00 AM, $20.00 after.  Otherwise, you par $20.00 until 1:00 AM, $25.00 after without a membership card.  Sign-up for one the minute you get in, or go to www.jblair.com at least a week before you intend to go, so you could get your membership card beforehand.

From Chelsea Queens to bridge-and-tunnel boys to Frogger’s (the name given to gay men living in New Jersey and Long Island, hence leaping over the Hudson River/Queens/Brooklyn to get to the City), to leather Daddies and straight guys looking for an interesting experience, there is something for everyone at The Roxy.  Ladies can come and enjoy plenty of eye-candy without disrupting their figures or comfort zones.

With music industry promotional parties hosted by Suzanne Bartsch and other New York Drag Queen celebrities, The Roxy is, by far, the remaining existence of the original New York City spark and it continues to shine brighter and brighter with every passing year.  You have not enjoyed a good night out until you have been to The Roxy at least once!  Ladies and Gentlemen of the other lifestyle don’t be nervous!  The hot Go-go boys on the front bar keep your women looking forward to getting back home with you!  That’s of course, if you’re handsome enough, when the men let you out of the bathroom!
