Ritalin
Late Night Ritalin
ABOVE KLEPTOMANIA
Wednesdays at 8 pm
Show World

info purloined verbatim from the Toxic Pop newsletter

The FBI had begun utilizing their Total Awareness Database. In it, they profile people according to spending patterns and habits. As this data has been analyzed, one fact has been becoming clear. Not one of the Al Qieda elite or the Iraqi deck of most wanted have been to see Late Night Ritalin and Karl with special guests Wednesday evenings at 8:00 in the Above Kleptomania theatre in ShowWorld.

If this causes you to worry that jack booted thugs may kick down your door and drag you away for "interrogation" at any minute, it is for good reason. Your inadvertent actions have placed you in 100% compliance with the terror network. No need to despair though. You can remedy your situation when Late Night Ritalin performs tonight with Karl and special guests on the second floor of ShowWorld. Above Kleptomania will proudly report your attendance (or lack thereof) to the proper authorities. Stand up and let yourself be counted among the righteous!

Remember - nothing says comedy like a theatre above a peep show across the street from the bus station. $10

Show World | 42nd St & Eighth Ave | Theater 2 on 2nd Fl

EVS
EAST VILLAGE SAFARIS
Native Guide: St. Reverend Jen
Sundays at 5
Starts at the Cube in Astor Place

It's downtown's only counter-cultural walking performance tour. Following the rash of closings of East Village and Lower East Side Theatres, several downtown artists have taken matters into their own hands and created a new walking "performance-tour" of their neighborhood. East Village Safaris - a unique blend of guided tour, shopping excursion and interactive theatrical experience is designed to provide the urban adventurer with a historically accurate account of The East Village and its vital role as the capital of the world's Bohemian counterculture.

The founders Robert Prichard, Sara Delphine, Reverend Jen, Tom Tenney and William Lee - describe their tour as a multi-site specific theatrical experience. The streets and a little red wagon carrying a boom box provide the stage. The guides are local performance artists. Curtains do not drop between acts during the performance tours, instead the wagon leads the audience to the next scene, meeting interesting characters who further the story along the way.

Each tour ends with the tourist being left off at one of the remaining local theatrical venues, just in time to catch a show.

Intermission features the opportunity for patrons to shop and dine at local businesses. The guides will steer people to the choicest dining locals, the hippest bars and the coolest places to shop. EVS tourists will see first hand how a vibrant and vital community that continues to nurture artists, musicians, poets, writers, film makers, activists, radicals and philosophers struggles to preserve it's counter cultural ideals and Bohemian identity.

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED!! Those interested in taking part should meet at the Cube in Astor Place. $10 per person. Dogs free. Elephants 2˘/pound.
