Monteith And Rand
Sunday at 9 PM
Open Run

Producer Kristine Niven is proud to welcome back The Second City and Broadway alums Monteith and Rand back to the New York Stages for the first time in over 5 years in also starring...with Monteith and Rand and other concerned comedians at the Triad Theatre (located at 158 West 72nd Street) Opening May 9th.  Performances are every Sunday at 9 PM, for an open-ended run.  Tickets are $20 (plus a 2 drink minimum) and can be reserved by calling 212.875.1857. For more information, please go to www.alsostarring.org.

The award winning comedy duo, John Monteith & Suzanne Rand, together with a rotating cast of guest comedians and alumni of Second City and The Committee, take a look at current politics.  Based on the same formula that has made The Second City in Chicago world famous, each week in also starring... guest performers will join the improvised and otherwise comedy of Monteith & Rand, that culminates in a second act of spontaneous comic fireworks.  And we walk the walk, too.  This is a proactive evening of political satire.  There will be voter registration at every performance!

Guests include: Gary Austin (former member of The Committee and founder of LA's The Groundlings), Audrie Neenan (from the Chicago company), Gary Goodrow (an original member of The Committee), The Royal We, Jay Rhoderick and Kevin Scott (of Centralia), Jim Ewing, Carl Kissin, Hilary Chaplain, Dion Flynn, Kelly Haran, June Raphael & Casey Wilson, and many more

John Monteith & Suzanne Rand began performing together in 1976.  They are the only improvisational team in history to have their own show on Broadway (1979), their own special on Showtime and a series on PBS.  They have performed their sketch and improvisational comedy on The Tonight Show, The Tomorrow Show & The Today Show. They have appeared on The Larry King Show, and The Merv Griffin Show.  John & Suzanne were both members of the legendary The Second City. Suzanne was a member of the Chicago troupe that included John Belushi Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Betty Thomas.  John was a member of the Toronto troupe with Gilda Radner, Dan Aykroyd and John Candy.  They met in 1972 while members of The Proposition, a Boston based comedy and improvisational troupe.

O'Debra Twins

The O'Debra Twins "Show and Tell"
Every Monday night at 10 till When
Bowery Poetry Club

Diane Destiny O'Debra and Tanya Tammy Tina Tiny Dancer Hyphen O'Debra are asmthatic Irish Twins born in the McDonalds bathroom. And on Monday nights, the world famous O'Debra Twins host "SHOW AND TELL", which has been called only open mic that matters on a Monday night" by Olivejuice.com.

The rules are simple. Performers put their names into "the colander of collaboration", and the line up for the night, which is slightly curated, is based on lottery drawing. The pot of performers is super spicy! Downtown favorites such as Reverend Jen, Rick Shapiro, Liam McEneaney, Girlbomb, Jason Trachtenburg, Faceboy, Eric Kirchberger, Touching You, Shappy, and Jennifer Blowdryer frequent the stage. Performers have seven minutes in heaven to do whatever the heck they want. As long as they don’t pick on the audience! And the audience, in turn, is not allowed to heckle. Anyone caught heckling will be forced to stand in the corner with their pants down for the following three acts. The O’Debra Twins have enforced this punishment three times, and they are not afraid to do it again.

Tickets are $3!!! That's a whole night of zany antics for only $3!!!
